LA Music Awards Singer Songwriter of the Year and San Diego Music Awards Nominee Alex Woodard is giving back to his fans with an ambitious new project. It’s a simple concept: pre-order Woodard’s new self-titled album (out 8/19 via Woodshack Music/Adrenaline Music Group), and he’ll write a song for you.
Woodard will be penning personalized tunes for each and every patron, contacting fans himself to get the details he’ll use to write their unique, one-of-a-kind songs. In addition to the special tune, each pre-order will come with a limited-edition t-shirt and access to an exclusive section on Woodard’s website called “The Woodshack,” where fans can check out photos, videos and never-heard demos, and get details on special meet-and-greets.
Alex has been getting a reputation for changing the way an artist connects to the fans, by playing in their living rooms. “The Woodshack” will be another opportunity for fans to register for these “personal” concerts.
Woodard is drawing comparisons to Tom Petty for his story-driven, country-rock sound and honest, gritty lyrics. Allmusic.com raves, “Like John Cougar Mellencamp, Woodard pens tales instantly recognizable, for they’re American stories we’ve all lived and shared, with the album holding a mirror to us all.”
Download.com observes that Alex’s “cool folk melancholy sounds especially fine next to gleaming country-pop guitars,” and Today’s Country Magazine says: “Woodard crafts his lyrics in a way that delivers the stories perfectly.”

Lonely Boy is Eivind Kirkeby (Norway), who wrote the poems and drew the cartoons and Antony Harding (Sweden/England) who wrote the music and performed the songs. He also played the drums for Darren Hayman’s own band Hefner. The nice people of Filthy Little Angels licensed the album to Series Two Records to be reissued in North America.

Peace in Our Time is a one-man musical project from Uppsala, Sweden. The only member of the band is Johan Regnér. He bought his first guitar when he was 16 years old and still lived in his hometown Jönköping. He and two friends formed a band (Nova Caine) and played together for almost three years. During 2004 the band split up and its members moved to different cities. Johan moved to Uppsala and decided to start a project of his own. The first song was recorded in June 2005, using only a drum machine and an acoustic guitar to create his melodic lo-fi indie pop. Since then he has recorded another 50 songs and released some of them on the “A Way To Pass The Time EP” , the “Some Nice And Decent Thoughts EP” and the single “Tiger“.
Ifyou’d like to purchase the newly released Peace In Our Time album “A Glimpse Of Happiness“ (15 songs) please send 13 USD paypal to seriestworecords@gmail.com . Price includes shipping. Orders ship immediately.

Ryan Adam’s Easy Tiger was released on June 26, 2007, and never one to just rest at that, he also recorded an entirely alternate version of the album, along with a couple alternate versions of songs from Cold Roses. It is often reffered to as the “Curtain Of Lights” version because the music videos of these songs that made the rounds were all recorded in front of a, you guessed it, curtain of lights. All songs were recorded in Avatar Studios in NYC, except for “Halloween Head”, which was recorded live on 6-22-07 in Ontario.

Vocalist Alyssa Graham’s stunning new album, ‘Echo,’ releases today. From “Pictures of You,” a musical travelogue that traces the arc of a modern day love affair, to “Involved Again,” a previously unrecorded gem originally written some 50 years ago for jazz legend Billie Holiday, ‘Echo‘ proves Alyssa Graham to be a singer of remarkable talent and range.
Jazz.com gave her rendition of Paul Simon’s “America” a 94/100, calling it “a standout performance” and going on to rave that “she projects herself completely into the psychological space of Paul Simon’s song, singing with total honesty and directness.”

Tony Lucca is well-known by many for performing with Britney, Justin and Christina on the 90s version of “The Mickey Mouse Club.” He was even interviewed and featured in last year’s “E! True Hollywood Story” about the kids involved, particularly those aforementioned names. But fast-forward to 2008, and you’ll find Lucca very much beyond his Mouseketeer days.
Currently on tour promoting his brilliant stage show, Lucca has cultivated a 10-year solo career as a gifted musician. His rich vocal quality can range from velvet to grit with seemingly little effort. He writes and sings with fervent honesty. His lyrics are provocative in every sense of the word : politically, emotionally and socially. In short, Lucca does what an artist is intended to do: his compositions expose everything within and around him, both beautiful and broken, and dare any listener to ignore his exceptional talents.
His current EP, ‘Close Enough,’ consists of five tracks recorded with just Lucca and his guitar in a single session. The blues-infused title track has stirred debate amongst audiences for its socio-political themes ranging from war to immigration; controversial subjects many musicians would step back from discussing. Lucca, however, holds up the mirror and asks, “tell me, is it hittin’ close enough to home for you, yet?” Also on the EP is the slightly tongue-in-cheek “True Story,” an uncensored tale of Lucca’s journey into adulthood. Tinged by a country music vibe, the song describes his life from the mischievous days of being a teenaged Disney performer to becoming a conscientious man and artist. In the end, Lucca determines with mature certainty: “it takes the time it takes to get it right.”
As L.A.-based Lucca hits the road with singers Joe Firstman (Carson Daly’s band leader) and Brian Wright, he has become a mainstay on the tour circuit and in his L.A., Midwestern, and NYC stomping grounds. Already armed with a reputation for captivating crowds with the sheer power and energy of his voice and stage presence, he recently sold out the popular NYC venue, Joe’s Pub, entirely on his own merit.
If he’s close enough to you this summer (tour dates below), don’t miss Lucca on the Firstman Family Affair tour with guest appearances from Carson Daly in select cities.
The EP ‘Close Enough‘ is available now on iTunes. The new album ‘Come Around Again’ due to be released Fall 2008.

The songwriting is very interesting and quirky, Klas has humor in his songs that could be compared to fellow Sweden country man Jens Lekman and to Adam Green among others. He has some charm as well. The Shock of Pleasure originally formed in 2004. The group was created by singer/songwriter Robert Romano of Dallas’ Stranger than Fiction along with veteran drummer Brent Irish and bassist Shelley Gaither (who was replaced this year by Josh Curry).
In 2005 the group was joined by Kelley Christian as featured vocalist. In addition to being a classically trained singer, Kelley is also a model and actress in the DFW Area and Los Angeles. Her angelic voice has brought the Shock of Pleasure to the forefront of the Dallas music scene.
The Shock combines trip-hop and down-tempo grooves to create this eclectic mix of textures and sound. This is Electro-Lounge Music - a soundtrack to life in the city.
SOP have just completed their debut CD, ‘It’s About Time,’ with producer David Castell (Blue October, Burden Brothers, Pallor). The first single, ‘This is a Test‘ has been featured on the ABC Family Channel’s ‘Wildfire‘ and has garnered regular spins on Commercial Radio Specialty Shows across the country, most notably 102.1 KDGE (Dallas). The CD reached 12 on the CMJ (national college radio chart) in February 2008.
On September 16th 2008, ‘It’s About Time‘ will be released nationally via the Universal Music Group’s Fontana Label.
